EMBROQUE: Experimenting in Linen!!

Now you know me.....After making my first atempt,  I decided to try to make a  shape, and choose a flower.  Took the colors of my bedcover, and looked in my boxes of left overs silk organza, habotai and charmeusse.  I was lucky to find all the colors!!!

I choose a linen background, and since it was so flat, I gave it texture with silk duppioni threads that I unravel from pieces of fabric, and throw them on the piece of linen.  Then....to start "free hand painting" with the pieces of silk.  After came the machine embroidery.....washed it....and...voila!!  my rainforest  exotic flower.....was done!!!!

Here is a close up of the fabrics....so you can see the flat linen, the shine of the white silk threads, and......my kindergarden  "Embroquè".   Tomorrow I will show you the steps to do the embroquè in my pink jacket.  In the mean time, receive the sun....the fresh Christmas  air, the warmth around us and all the blessing that I send you........all the way from the Rainforest!!!!
