I am back!!!!

Hello everybody!!!  I thank God, because......yes....I lost my Rainforestcouture blog!!!!  would you belive it???  It desappiered and I was able toget to it, as a follower, but I could not write a post!!!  I am so happy to be back.....that  we have to do something really good as a next proyect.....do you agree????  In the mean time, what about if I share with you.....a simple idea for your table???

Last Saturday, I had some dear friend for dinner.....my way to show love and affection, is usually "making or doing" things for the people I love, so....to buy a flower arrangement is very nice, but...it is not on with me.  I like to use my mind also, so, I went to my  little garden, with my basket on one hand, and a pair of pliers in the other.   I do not have a flower garden...mine is jungle type....jajajaja!!!  but....there is allways something in there....and I found these lovely purlple bunches of flowers hanging like grapes.....they are just....divine!!!!  God´s creation-do no forget please!!!  I cut a couple of bunches, and then, I have plenty of these green leaves that are so full.  I cutted like 20 of them, and....that was it!!

It is a shame I did not take a picture as I started to:   P ut a green piece of silk .  I had 12 candles in a vase, and I arrange them in an  VV shape.....
Then, I put the waxy leaves around them, making sure the opening on the red vases was free, because I did not wanted any accident at the table!!!
Then.....I cut all the tiny litle flowers from the bunches, but no the top ones....and put them on top of the leaves....arrange them slowly, making sure that they go nicely, as nice as you can....because having friend at home....it is a blessing and we must make them feel super special!!!
Then...with the 2 ends of the clusters, I finished the beggining and the end of the arrangement.

When my friends came to sit at the table, one of them helped me out to light the candles......the table was all set, with glases, cutlery, white napkins....and my  gratitud for being my friends.   It is funny how life is different for everybody....I just enjoy so much these little details!!!!

A Sunday in the Rainforest

Good morning my friends,

Just wanted to share with you the lovely mountains that we have here, so close by......

Yesterday, I drove up to the mountains in Coronado.  It took me only 20 minutes drive, because being Costa Rica so small, we have everything very close by.  Here are a couple of the lovely views we had in our way to have lunch!!!

This is "Mi Tierra"  our land......simple....beautifull nature. God´s  creation.....I just love, love all this green colors.....mix with the blue sky....the fresh air, and the sweet smell of "Santa Lucia"

These  are:  Santa Lucia´s flowers......tiny, delicate, beautifull, with that lovely fresh scent......I will tell you a custom here in CR:  On the 1st of January, people go up to the mountains, and collect this lovely flowers, and put them  in their home,  in a jar "without water" .  If you do this, you are suppose to have prosperity in your home all the year around.  Also, you must give to your friends a couple of St. Lucia flowers with a coin in a little red envelope....to wish them prosperity also!!!
Simple things.....may be.....but I  enjoy them so much!!!  what would we do without loving this simple things??  look around, because God has provide us all with this little things that sometimes we do not see, but....they are there....to make us smile, to make us see....how wonderfull is Our Father!!!!  By the way:  I must make clear that :  I only belive in God, I do not belive that the little flowers are going to give me....prosperity.....but they do give me lots of pleasure just looking at them!!!

Hand Made Loops-day-3

5.  To make the first knot of our "couple", we put the needle -in front of the fabric-  going under the bars or bridge, and the thread should pass -behind- the needle.  Now you pull the needle very carefully and   make a firm knot.

6.  To make the second knot that finishes our "couple", we put the needle -behind the fabric- going under the bars or bridge, and the thread should pass  -on front of the needle-  just the way that we are seeing in the picture.  Now you pull the needle carefully but very firm  and.....you now will be able to see our first couple!!!!

Hand made loops-day 2

Good morning!!!  it is a Glorious day here in Costa Rica, famous for its Rainforest!!!  The sun is out, and I just love the silence of this early hours....it gives me the chance to praise God and His blessings:  The daylight, the sun, the air, the lovely shades of green and...........the oportunity to be here with you!!!!  no wonder this is a lovely morning!!!

We are going to learn to make the button loops with thread, so....let´s us start!!!

Note:  to explain to you,   I have used a big button, a thick thread and a large needle, so you can see properly how the "couples" are made, but at the end you will see how the same thing is done with normal sewing thread.
1.  We take the button and measure it.  We mark with pins the size of the loop , witch it will be "maybe..."- 2 or 3 mm bigger that the actual button, but....never smaller!!  IF you are making a few of them, keep this measurement in mind, because all the thread loops should be the same width, and they should have the same amount of "couples".

 2.  We thread the needle with double thread.  Look how  the half way of the thread is at the end, and this is important, because this end, makes a loop when we put the needle inside the fabric, and passed through to the other mark or pin.    We do not make a knot, we do not need it, because the loop is what we are going to go through when we start passing the  thread from one side to the other side.....

3.  When we pass on top of the  fabric the tread to start forming the base of the loop, we pass by the loop that was at the end of the thread as you can see on this picture.

4.  Now that we have formed the first line that makes the loop, we go back to the other side, and we pinch just a bit of the folded fabric....about  3mm.  We make 3 lines.  We started at the right, and go to the left, from there to the  right, and the last one to the left.    If you like the loops thicker, then just add a couple more bars and you will end up with a heavier bridge.

5.  Our bridge is ready to start with the knots to form the loop.  Please look carefully now, because we are starting to make a "Couple"

The couples are made with 2 knots.  This is the no.1.  We pass the needle under the bars and-on-the front of the fabric, the thread goes behind the needle as you can see.

Now, it is time to have our  morning coffe, and I will be waiting for you right here tomorrow, to continue with the second part of the "Couple"  ,In the mean time, receive a warm  embrace and my best wishes for you to have a Blessed day!!!

HAND MADE LOOPS....lovely finishes-day1-

Wow!!!  at last  my new computer has "some" of my pictures!!!  I am sorry for the delay of this post, but, the important fact, is that here I am, sharing with you a lovely little detail.

Hand made thread loops, here    I will explain how I use them in this lovely dress,  made for a "great-grand mother"!!!  When my client came to let me know, that her last grand daugther was getting married, and that she needed a  very special dress for the grand ocation,  I knew that I had to design a dress suitable for her age and the elegance that she carries by nature, because this client of mine, is such a lovely, elegant lady!!!

The choice of color is just perfect for  her blue eyes, and the antique gold french lace, was finished by adding  lots of self color swarovski crystals.    The over 80 years old owner, has a perfect posture, and a very nice shape!! so, my design flows gently over her figure, in a marmade shape.  I used 4 ply pure silk, and the lining was also pure china silk.  The lace was worked separetely, and if you look at it closely, you will find that there are no seams.....and, it is  attached to the dress only on the armholes,  and neckline.  I do not like, in this case, to have the lace worked in the zipper at the back at the same time....to me, is it not up to our  "Rainforestcouture".

In this picture, you can aprecciate the way I finished the back of the lace.  First of all, the dress was closed with and invisible zipper, and then the lace was finished with a silk border, and close with "hand made loops in thread" and small covered buttons.  By the way....the fitting on the manequi is not good, but on my client, was really lovely!!!

Well, tomorrow, we will start learning how to make this thread loops!!!  so, please come back and enjoy with me our lovely cup of coffe, and  the wonderfull warmth  that you can find here....in my little garden, sorround by the green of  nature that God created  for all of us!!!
